WordPress
A plugin that does the first-party setup.
Self-hosted WordPress can intercept a request. The Cookie Free Analytics plugin does two things: it prints the snippet, and it answers /cf.js and /api/collect from your own domain. You never touch DNS. Download from your site in Cookie Free Analytics (the public ID is already inside), or upload the zip and paste the ID under Settings → Cookie Free Analytics.
Non-technical
- Add the site in Cookie Free Analytics and open Serve from your domain.
- Choose WordPress. Download the plugin — your site ID is already inside. Or upload the zip and paste the ID in Settings.
- In WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Activate.
- Back in Cookie Free Analytics, press Check now. When it is green, you are done.
Settings → Cookie Free Analytics if you need to change the public ID or hide the badge (Starter or Growth).
What it automates
Yes — for WordPress this is the whole first-party install. The visitor loads yoursite.com/cf.js. Lists that block our hostname never see us. You do not paste a rewrite.
WordPress.com
Hosted WordPress.com cannot upload plugins on cheap plans. Paste the snippet in a Custom HTML block if you must, and use the c. subdomain for first-party. Self-hosted WordPress.org and most agency hosts (Kinsta, SpinupWP, Hetzner) are the plugin path.
