The client should not be the first to know

A visitor can click Reject and still load the page. That is why we count without a cookie. The next fact is cruder: if the hostname does not answer, there is nothing to count. Most teams hear that from the client.

Watch sits on the same site you already added for pageviews. Frankfurt requests it every window. Dublin only runs if Frankfurt failed. Down means both failed. Slow means it answered, late. That is not an outage, and we will not pretend it is.

A page they can open without a login

The public status page is the answer to “is it just me?”: No problems detected — or that it is down — every watched URL, a 60-day bar, and a week of days that also say when nothing happened. You copy the link from Watch. Growth may CNAME status.yourhost. We do not hijack your homepage.

Starter and Growth include a monthly report. Growth can put the agency name on it. You are not marking your own homework; we ran the checks.

Not a second uptime product

There is no Watch SKU. It turns on with Starter and Growth and pauses if they cancel. Hobby sees the tab. We do not crawl HTML, scan ports, or send SMS. Sitemap.xml is a daily check of the file and the first 40 same-host URLs. Visitor 404s are cfa('404') on your not-found page.

Oh Dear (public list, 31 August 2026) starts at $17 / month for two sites as a dedicated monitor, USD, ex VAT. If you only need ping from many continents, that is a different tool. If you already count pageviews here, Watch is the check on the same hostname.
